'Tis the season for giving and I would like to thank readers of Into the Wardrobe. I am giving away a $20 Amazon gift card!* (I initially wanted to give away a book, but I am so lame I couldn't decide which book to give away. This way the winner can choose which book to get!)
To enter this giveaway, all you have to do is answer these questions in the comments section below:
1. What children's or young adult book would you get if you won the gift card?
2. Why do you want that book?
3. Would the book be for yourself or a gift for someone?
Your answers to all three questions will count as one entry. Only one entry per person is allowed. This giveaway is open to all readers of Into the Wardrobe, no matter where you are in the world.
The winner of the gift card will be randomly selected next Sunday evening, Dec. 14. I will post the name of the winner and his/her entry by next Monday morning, Dec. 15. This is all happening in Philippine time, of course.
Good luck! And don't be shy. I look forward to reading all the entries. Thank you so much for reading my blog. :o)
*If the winner turns out to be someone here in the Philippines, he/she may opt instead for a PHP1,000 gift card for any of the major bookstores in the Philippines.

1. I would get Chains with my card.
2. I want to read it because I have read such great reviews about it.
3. I would keep it for myself and then probably donate it to my school library.

1. I would get Jessica Day George's Dragon Flight and her Princess of the Midnaight Ball.
2.I want to read it because I loved Dragon Slippers and Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow.
3.For me all book purchases are twofold in purpose in that they are a gift to me personally, and a gift to my kids who I read to every night. This is one of the things we do to stay close to eachother, cuddling under blankets while we enter exciting new worlds created by writers.
2. Because it has the word "heart" in it and it was recommended to me by my boyfriend's Mom. Also, if I read it then I get brownie points =D
3. Myself.. and I would love to pass it on to my chil'ren =)
2. Why do you want that book? It would be for my godson and it was my favorite book from when I was a child.
3. Would the book be for yourself or a gift for someone? For my godson
Since that book is more history of children's literature, I'm also very tempted by The Unknown Witches of Oz: Locasta and the Three Adepts, by Dave Hardenbrook. I have a collection of Oz books and I hadn't heard of this new book before so I'd like to read it and see if it sounds properly Ozzy. Some of the current Oz authors really don't do a good job of conveying the magic of Oz. Others like Eric Shanower are fabulous. And this one I'd keep for my collection.
Yours,
Jenny
I would buy the book for myself because as you very well know, dear Tarie, that is how books get turned into movies.

Oh, gosh! I don't know. So many good books. Maybe Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott. Looks amazing.
2. Why do you want that book?
Again, it sounds amazing. I've heard really good feedback as well.
3. Would the book be for yourself or a gift for someone?
Myself, though I'm sure my sister or someone will read it after me!

I had that book as a child and I loved it well into my teens. Shel Silverstein is timeless, you can read him as an adult and appreciate the wit in his books.
I'd gift the book to my daughter. She's the perfect age for it now and she loves to read. I think she'll love it as much as I do.
Its a candid book written by a boy who got AIDS from a transfusion back in the 80s.
I believe that every child should read this.
Thanks

2. I've been wanting to read this series since we bought the movies for Christmas last year. They are so good and I bet the books are even better!
3. It would be for me and my sister. We watch the movies together and we both love to read and have been wanting to read these books.

I'd be getting it as a gift for myself, but I'm dreaming of the day when I can read it to my kids as well, when they're old enough to sit still for half an hour.
2. Aside from the fact that I have Books1 and 2 (InkHeart and InkSpell), I just can't wait to see the ending of the book series. ^^
3. I'll read it first, then maybe, let others too.. (haha!)
Merry Christmas!
When I bought Secret Sacrament years ago (and I mean YEARS ago) I was really hoping that the author would write a sequel because it has an interesting story not to mention the nice cover art. I visited the bookstore recently and saw 'Time of the Eagle' and I got really excited.
I'd buy it for me and my girlfriend because we both read Secret Sacrament and I think she would like to read the sequel too :P
Kudos to Tarie (best editor, EVER)! This is a very nice holiday treat.
2. Because it's the only Earthsea Cycle book I haven't gotten yet (and I found an autographed copy! *sniff*). I'm also planning to use the Earthsea Cycle for my thesis, hehe.
3. It's for myself, but I hope to share it with my siblings and friends. The world and stories of Earthsea really are fascinating!
1.) Mine would be Of Nightingales That Weep by Katherine Paterson.
2.) I want to read it again - take note: again - because I fell in love with it when I was a kid. I have been searching for it for ten years already, but have never found a copy in any of the bookstores I've been to. :(
3.) It's for me, of course! But since I love the book so much I'd share it with my sister.
2. Aside from being a required reading in one of my classes, I have been (desperately) wanting to read it for a while.
3. For myself though I'd be willing to share
2. I want to read something I'll get for free!...hahaha...but seriously, with the tons of readings I have this short break (Anglo-Am Lit major) I need something I can read and just relax :)
3. Myself, of course! then the sharing goes after I've read it :)
1.) I would get Christine Kringle by Lynn Brittney. :)
2.) I want it because it's a perfect read for the Holidays! I basically love everything related to Christmas.
3.) The book would be for myself--I'll gladly share it with my book lovin' friends after I have read it.
Happy Christmas!

1. Firebirds Soaring
2. Because YA fantasy soars - and short stories should!
3. For myself (and fantasy-loving children)
2.The love story of Henry and Claire intrigues me. I want to know how Henry can go to his different time line (past, present, future), and how he met Claire, his wife during his involuntary time travel and how she copes up with it.
3.For myself but after reading it I will recommend it to my friends and let them borrow it :).
the twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer
2. Why do you want that book?
It's an interesting, thrilling and
a must-read for this year. Bella and Edward's relationship is one-of-a-kind, and I can't wait to know what happens next!
3. Would the book be for yourself or a gift for someone?
Myself. I would also like to share it with my older sister...
